Monday, October 16

Stamford
The Operations Committee of the Board of Representatives will meet Monday, October 16 at 6:30 p.m. to receive an update on the work being done on the West Main Street Bridge and the city’s work to address both short and long-term flooding challenges. Norwalk
On Wednesday, October 18, there will be a Special Joint Meeting of the Board of Education and the Finance and Claims Committee of the Common Council at 7 p.m. to discuss some key issues surrounding the upcoming budget. Learn more about last year’s budget debate, which featured a large request from the school district that was not fully met by the city’s council.
The Ad Hoc Sustainability and Resilience Committee of the Common Council will meet on Monday, October 16 at 6 p.m. and get an update on the city’s tree inventory work. Learn more about the importance of trees to both Norwalk and southwest Connecticut as a whole.

Fairfield
The repair and remediation work at the Penfield Pavilion has started, according to First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick. The Board of Selectmen will also receive an update on the work at its meeting on Monday, October 16 at 4 p.m. Learn more about what will be taking place at Penfield Pavilion.
There will also be a Board of Finance Capital Workshop on Thursday, October 19 at 7 p.m. which will review many of the proposed projects in town.

Greenwich
Items that will help fund and advance the Central Middle School plans are up for votes this week. On Monday, October 16, the Board of Estimate and Taxation will meet at 6:30 p.m. to vote on issuing $42 million in bonds to pay for the project. On Tuesday, October 17, the Planning & Zoning Commission will meet at 4 p.m. to review the proposed plans for reconstructing the school.

Darien
The Board of Selectmen will meet on Tuesday, October 17 at 9:30 a.m. and hear a presentation on the results of the Grove Street flooding study.

Westport
The Board of Education will meet Thursday, October 19 at 6 p.m. and review the results of school climate surveys that were given in spring 2023 as well as discuss updates to the district’s strategic plan.
