Happy Monday! This week is Election Day and I know that’s where many of you are focusing your attention. If you haven’t voted yet, check out this amazing voting guide that the Connecticut Mirror put together. Check out CT Mirror’s 2024 voting guide.

Our All Aboard series takes you in and around many of the train stations in our region, including the Stamford Transportation Center, South Norwalk Train Station, and Fairfield Metro—now Fairfield–Black Rock. We’re highlighting some of the key findings we’ve seen in our reporting so far. 

This Week at a Glance

This section aims to highlight the most important meetings and news taking place each week.

  • In Bridgeport, there will be a City Council Informational Session: Connecticut Against Gun Violence on Monday, November 4 at 5 p.m. 
  • In Stamford, the Board of Representatives will meet on Wednesday, November 6 at 8 p.m. and vote to approve numerous items, including an agreement between the city and AKFR, an engineering company, for corridor improvements to West Main Street and approvals for how the city is using additional American Rescue Plan Act funds it received from the state.
  • In Norwalk, there will be two school construction updates this week: one at the Board of Estimate and Taxation on Monday, November 4 at 6:30 p.m. and one at the Land Use & Building Management Committee of the Common Council on Wednesday, November 6 at 7 p.m. Learn more about school construction in Norwalk.
  • In Darien, the Board of Selectmen will meet on Monday, November 4 at 7 p.m. to discuss bringing back the Pedestrian Safety Advisory Committee and receive an update on flood prevention work in the town. 
  • In Westport, the Board of Finance will meet on Wednesday, November 6 at 7:30 p.m. and hear a presentation from town and school officials on their capital project needs over the next few years, as well as vote on allocating $5.5 million—the remainder of the town’s American Rescue Plan Act funds—for the Old Mill Walkway and Tide Gate Structure project.
