Westport Board of Finance Approves ARPA Funds to “Jumpstart” Affordable Housing Project
The Westport Board of Finance voted unanimously to use $150,000 of American
Rescue Plan Act

to help jumpstart a potential affordable housing development at 900 Post Road
East.
The funds will go toward “predevelopment work,” such as drainage and
environmental studies and surveys
Darien Board of Education Approves Budget Without Major Cuts
Proposals to cut funding for department chairs, an athletic director, and the
district’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives from the final Board of
Education budget were rejected this week.
The Board unanimously voted to approve a $110 million budget, a 3.74% increase
over last year.

East Avenue, Under the Train Bridge, Will be Fully Closed for About a Week
Some time in the next few weeks, East Avenue will be fully shut down on either
side of the train bridge to install a special temporary earth retaining system,
including large steel beams, that will be used to keep the bridge in place while
utility work is done.
