Fourth of July Celebrations Around Southwest Connecticut

Many communities are hosting events, including fireworks displays, parades, and more, to celebrate Independence Day in southwest Connecticut.

Stamford

The city is hosting fireworks at Cummings Beach on Friday, July 1. Residents are invited to bring chairs and blankets to the beach. There will be food trucks at the beach and the fireworks show is scheduled to start around 9 p.m.

The rain date is scheduled for Saturday, July 2.

Norwalk

The city is hosting a fireworks and concert event at Calf Pasture Beach on Sunday, July 3, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Derik & The Fun Bags will perform at Shady Beach, while DJ Vinnie Campisi performs at Calf Pasture Beach. The fireworks display will take place after dark.

The rain date for the event is Tuesday, July 5.

Fairfield

The town’s fireworks display will be held on Saturday, July 2 at Jennings Beach. The fireworks display will begin around 9:15 p.m. and the fireworks will be set off from a barge off the Long Island Sound.

The rain date is Sunday, July 3.

Greenwich

There will be two fireworks shows in town on Saturday, July 2, one at Binney Park, the other at Greenwich Point.

At Binney Park, there will be a performance by the Sound Beach Community Band starting at 8 p.m., along with vendors who will be on site that evening near the tennis courts. The fireworks show will start around 9:10 p.m.

At Greenwich Point, fireworks will begin around 9:35 p.m. and residents need to show their 2022 park pass or purchase a single-entry ticket from the town’s website.

If it rains, the fireworks could be rescheduled, but no date has been announced.

Darien

The town’s fireworks display will take place later in the month on Friday, July 15 at Darien High School, with gates opening at 6:30 p.m. and the display scheduled for around 9 p.m. There will be live music from the Darien Community Band and food trucks on site. The rain date is set for Saturday, July 16.

Westport

The fireworks celebration will take place on Thursday, June 30 at Compo Beach. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Westport Police Athletic League, and tickets to the fireworks cost $40 per vehicle. Tickets can be purchased at the Westport Police Department at 50 Jesup Road and at the Parks and Recreation Office at 260 Compo Road South.
