Happy Monday! And happy last few days of April. We cannot believe it’s going to be May this week, but we have some exciting things planned so we’re looking forward to what’s ahead. But first let’s see what's happening in southwest Connecticut this week.

- Stamford’s Board of Representatives will be meeting this week to officially adopt the 2025-2026 budget, while other communities continue to work through their budget processes. Bridgeport’s Budget and Appropriations Committee is holding a public hearing on May 1, while the Greenwich RTM Budget Overview Committee will receive an overview presentation of the proposed budget on Wednesday, April 30.
- In Westport, the Hamlet at Saugatuck proposal, which would be a new commercial center in town that includes 57 residential units, retail, restaurants, a hotel, and a rehabilitated office building, is in front of the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Conservation Commission this week.
- Fairfield residents can weigh in on proposed changes to the town’s charter at the Charter Revision Commission public hearing on May 1.

- In Bridgeport, the Budget and Appropriations Committee will meet on Thursday, May 1 at 6 p.m. and host a public hearing on the city’s budget.
- In Stamford, the Board of Representatives will meet on Thursday, May 1 at 8 p.m. and vote on the city’s 2025-2026 budget. Earlier in the week, on Monday, April 28 at 7 p.m., the Fiscal Committee will review and discuss the budget before it goes before the whole board.
- In Norwalk, the Ad Hoc Affordable Housing Committee will meet on Tuesday, April 29 at 6 p.m. and discuss the next steps for the city’s Affordable Housing Action Plan as well as its Affordable Housing Account.
- In Fairfield, the Charter Revision Commission is hosting a public hearing on the proposed revisions to the town’s guiding document on Thursday, May 1 at 7 p.m. Explore the proposed changes ahead of time.
- In Greenwich, the RTM’s Budget Overview Committee will receive a presentation on the proposed budget from the Board of Estimate and Taxation at its meeting on Wednesday, April 30.
